I need to look at option on how to present my work, There are different portfolio options I could have so i need to look at a variety of options.I definitely know i want my images to be A4 size as i don't think making my work any bigger would elevate my work further. Also if i am taking my portfolio to show to a potential employer than have an A4 size portfolio would be easy for me to keep safe ,preserve and carry.
Artist Portfolio A4 14.95
This Portfolio is what i would call a traditional portfolio, It is lightweight & durable and water resistant which would be good for carrying my work to potential clients. However I don't think my work fits with this type of portfolio. As my work is about evidence and crime in think this portfolio which i would use fine art and portrait work would work with my work. The price is affordable but does that mean that the zips and the material are quality. After time could this portfolio become easily damaged.
Recycled Earthbound Portfolio with Flaps A4 £15.95
A4 Earthbound Portfolio is made from 100 per cent recycled materials, so you can store and transport your artwork or drawings safe Earthbound Portfolios have internal flaps to help organise your work and ties on three sides to make sure you can transport it safely.I like this recyclable portfolio i think it is different and i haven't seen one like this before but i dont think this portfolio will reflect my work on crime. to me it looks like a notebook and not a portfolio so i don't think that this wold look professional to show clients. But the price is affordable for all.
A4 Thin Archival Presentation Box £19.95
A white lined, shallow A4 presentation box. Ideal for presenting, storing or giving your artwork in.Using acid and chlorine free materials. I like this box i think it would be practical and would work well with my images. However i think the box is maybe to small for the amount of images i need. I want to put 15 images into my portfolio and i would think will acid free archival; paper as well as my images would be a squeeze in this of portfolio box. Also i think getting ou the images would be difficult as they would pack tight into the box which would mean that getting each image out to show a client cold be tricky. i think the price is good but maybe spending a bit more would get a bigger box.
SeaWhite A4 Archival Presentation Box 50mm £ 27.95
(SeaWhite archival portfolio box, 2017)
| This archival quality presentation box is Covered in quality black fabric and with a clamshell design the box opens completely flat to lie on a table. Ideal for presenting loose images or work in image pockets. The boxes 5cm deep and will take work up to A4 size.It is acid free and chlorine free and the clamshell design means it opens flat. I think i will look at getting this portfolio box because i think like my degree show images which will be presented in a case file box I think having my portfolio work on crime presented in a box as well would show i have thought about what the subject matter and that have found a portfolio that complements my work . I don't want my work to look like have thrown it in a portfolio in a rush i want to show the thought behind it.Spending that bit more price was i think would get a better quality finished print box. |
Personalisation
i think i want to personalise my chosen portfolio when i get it , I think if i have ' Documenting Crime By Lia Jackson' etched on the front of my print box would make my portfolio stand out over others. As the Seawhite archival box is popular for storing images to show to clients i think have a etching of what is inside the box and also with my name would make the presentation of my work look more professional.
