After university I want to become a forensic photographer, after finding out that my photography degree qualification will be recognised as required skill allows me to carry on with my pursuit of my career in forensic photography. As previously i was told on other websites that i need science a - levels hence why i produced work about crime in Negotiated Major Project because i thought i couldn't be a forensic photographer but it turns i could be. However i need to apply or look for a postgraduate courses in criminology and forensic science.
Diploma in Forensic Science and Criminology
i was sent this other day from the University of Essex, this is what they offer different online postgraduate course in criminology and forensic science. The course takes only 6- 12 months to complete and it as it online and part time so i can do it from home and dont have to travel to Essex to complete the course plus i can do my part time job as well studying. At first i thought this course was just for Police professionals who are looking to go into criminology but it is for anyone with a degree. The degree should linked to forensics which my degree will do as it is photography degree. The cost of this course is £3000 which is a lot but i will to see if i can get financial assistance to complete this course. i need to think about this course i have to July to apply and by then i will have an idea what degree grade i have achieved as well which may inform my decision. I really think this is my way to get my career i want and i have already asked for information from someone at the university the evidence is shown below showing i am really interested.

If i decide not go into forensic photography which is what i favour to go into then i want to go in to Journalism then i should look at and start applying for internships, networking with professionals in that area. I have been a member of LinkedIN for a while now and this is the best social media platform to network with industry professionals.

Whilst on there i found this opportuntiy, This could be my ideal job placement as i want travel and i can be a photojournalist at the same time. i could do this year or next year as it is only for three months meaning i wouldn't need take a gap year. The opportunity to gain experience of working with a business is key to being the Newspaper business. i know this is not a newspaper but this opportuntiy could provide me the experience i want to see if i wants to be a photojournalist plus there is mentors and help for you along the way which you may not get if i started straight away in a job in the Uk. The only draw back is the cost, it is over 3,500 pounds for everything including accommodation but it doesn't include food and costs of living. I have applied for this job as it would be a great opportuntiy and i family out in Thailand who have a house their so maybe the cost would be significantly reduced.

As i dont want top go to london maybe this could be opportunity for me to look at, This opppourtnity is in Salford perfect location for me it is accessible and i can stay in the north west don't have to move to london. I know wanted to look at going into photojournalism and reporting for a newspaper. But this work experience opportunity at the BBC could be a different route to become a photojournalist. They dont require any specific qualifications which i was worried about i thought you might a degree in Journalism but you don't. The different placement opportunity mean i could work in different areas. I am interested in the BBC breakfast placement as they deal with big story event like crimes which i would like to report on. I don't mind going into be a journalist if the opportunity arose at the placement i think that is why i am interested is because there is a range of opportunity after the placement is finished.Also the experience gained at this placement could me in th rupture as gaining work experience from a company like the BBC has got to be beneficial to me Therefore i am going to apply it due tot he opportunities whilst i am there and afterwards.
