Output Options

I need to look at different Paper types to see what i want to print my images i will shoot on, i am currently creating work for my degree show about crime in the past when i have created work for my exhibition last year which was about crime i have printed work on Matte archival print paper. The Matte print allows you to see the texture of subject matter clearer which is what is needed when looking at crime images as the more detail could show more evidence that is needed to find out who did the crime. But for my portfolio i will have crime scene images from international markets and contexts last year, i may want to improve the work i did last year but i am unsure yet if i want to improve it yet i will have to see.But i want to create new work that is still based on crime but is styled in a documentary style as if i can't make it into Forensic photography as job then i want to look at doing features in newspaper hopefully related to crime.

I have an idea i want to use classic Matte prints for all my portfolio work but i am interesting in looking at other options.

Paper type

C- type prints

A C- type print is made form paper which is processed in a photographic developer, it is then bleached to fix before being washed to remove the processing chemicals. There is also a digital C- Type  which is the same as a traditional photographic print but made from a digital file rather than a negative.

here is an example of C-type prints.

Fuji Crystal Archive Paper

Fujicolor Crystal Archive Paper is a silver halide colour paper, silver halide is a light sensitive chemical.this paper is design exclusively to produce high-image-quality colour prints. Anything less than high quality prints will not work on this paper. This paper incorporates silver halide technology, coupler technology ( puts two layers together) and layer design technology to deliver enhanced colour reproduction, white purity, image stability and handling of the photo.

Classic Matte

Classic matte paper also known as a “semi-gloss” or a “light gloss”.It has enough of a coating to add thickness and smoothness to the paper, but not enough to reflect paper under the light.Photos with a matte finish is always smoother and appear to have no glare on the surface. Due to less glossy finished fingerprints are not as visible. This style works very well especially for black and white photograph which produces classic look.

Classic Gloss

Gloss paper simply has more of the coating applied than matte paper.Gloss coated paper is very smooth, shiny and results in a reflective surface. The end result of the photo often looks vibrant in color, crisp and sharp. Produces brighter color and offer more saturation.

Kodak Professional Ultra Endura

Kodak Ultra Endura Paper shows a richer, more realistic colours across the spectrum while maintaining its outstanding longevity. Ultra Endura Paper is the colour negative paper within it.It delivers great visual reproduction, it especially good for  colour saturation and produces a remarkably accurate colour reproduction of what is seen on screen.
